Gravelines, Nord-Pas-de-Calais

The Ecloserie Marine of Gravelines produces sea bass alevins (Dicentrarchus Labrax) and sea bass larvae (eggs just hatched): 16 to 18 million, 3 to 5g alevins selected every year and 400 to 500 million larvae. EMGI sells 15% of its production to farms in the Group and the rest is exported abroad: Croatia, Greece, Italy, Spain. The alevins are delivered in vivier trucks (water-tank trucks). The larvae from the selection are sold abroad to non-competing hatcheries.

TYPE OF PRODUCTION: Alevins. It takes between 4 to 5 months to produce sea bass alevins, weighing 3 to 5 grams, from a hatched egg.
SPECIES: European sea bass (Dicentrarchus Labrax)
ANNUAL PRODUCTION: The annual target is to produce and to sell between 16 and 18 million alevins.

FRANCE TURBOT ICHTUS specializes in turbot (Psetta maxima) hatching and rearing. Products are harvested, packaged and commercialized based on strict standards that comply with exclusive Label Rouge (Red Label) specifications. In addition to this production, the company commercializes a range of premium-quality seafood products for export, under the brand name "L’Alliance du Goût".
LOCATION: L’Epine, on Noirmoutier Island (85). Trédarzec in the Côtes d’Armor (22).
TYPE OF PRODUCTION: Hatchery and nursery Turbot pre-rearing and rearing
• Noirmoutier: on-land pen production, supplied by saline groundwater.
• Trédarzec: on-land pens. Rearing site use a recycled system (pilot set up in 1999 to optimize fish living conditions and to minimize environmental impact).

Aquanord, French sea bass and gilt-head sea bream leader, produces over 1,500 tons of fish per year that comply with rigorous standards of quality. Each Aquanord fish is aged between 2 and 4 years old, based on sale size of between 200 g and 2 kg. It is fished to order and meticulously calibrated. It is then put into 5 or 10 kg crates in one of Europe's most modern packaging facilities, where product freshness and traceability are guaranteed. The farm enjoys a privileged position in Europe. Loated at 30 km from the Channel Tunnel and within close proximity to the motorway network leading to major French and European cities. Down through the years, it has benefited from the vitality of France's largest aquaculture research cluster, located in the north of the country.
